Sherry - lol, so you have been following each on the board for a little while then??

Just to clarify - at 12 months what is the average total sleep? Olly gets just under 2 hours DT now and about 10-11 NT.

Kim - I didn't realise you still fed then. I thought he STTN 12ish hours. You are one of the people I think of at 11.30pm when feeding thinking well Kim and Ethan STTN so we should be able to as well!

We have had 3 EWs in the last 4 mornings so it is still trial and error with us. Before that of course we had the long NWs and so he would sleep later to make up for it.

He's STTN most of the time...but we're back to the 5 am "wake up".  He's NOT ready to get up at that time, because he's crabby, and still tired.  When it happens, more often than not lately, I've been feeding him to get the extra sleep (for both of us :) ).
However, four weeks ago he was waking at 2:30 and 5 am for a LONG time.  I got rid of the 2:30 NF easily, but the 5am thinkg hasn't been as simple :(

Yes, and we were Pals on our Old Birth club - IT was very different then this one. I think were were the ONLY two who didn't have little ones who didn't do what they were supposed to. Because Ethan was super touchy with sleep and Lyle is supper spirited. Big difference though - Ethan straightened up and read the BW manual. Lyle's still leaves much to be desired. I reckon if I have a 3rd child I might get an Angel as well. I'm the third in my family and I was an angel baby. But, I don't think that's in the cards here.

We spent some time in Atlanta last summer and Sherry doesn't live too far away so we got to meet up a few times!

Daylene and Sherry,

thanks for the advice. DD STTN last nite from 8:15pm to 6:20pm. ;D

you were right about the A after the 30 min nap, dd yawned just 2.5hr into that A and had a 1.5 hr nap.

She woke at 3pm and BT was brought forward to 8:15pm instead of 9:15pm.

The thing is, she was quite cranky the last hr b4 her bed time, which is unusual, mayb last A was too long at 5hr 15min? I am nervous to bring BT even earlier considering her short nite sleep requirement. ( usually is 10 hr, lately it is been 9+ )

what do u think I should do? stretch the 1st A? extend 1st nap? stretch 2nd A? or bring BT forward?

Or I should just stick to this for a few days to see if dd can adapt to this new routine and see what happens?

Megan - that is exactly our routine for the last few days. What A times are you doing??

Yesterday was 330/1h30m/4/20/3:17 laid down, 3:42 fell asleep.

Today I woke her up b/c we were supposed to go to a toddler group, but it was cancelled. She was tired all day today and I think it's b/c I woke her up, so today her atimes were very similar but I let her sleep a tiny bit more than 1h30m: 3:22/1:45/3:43/20/3:32 laid down, 4:05 fell asleep.

Tomorrow I'm going to let her sleep as late as she will and try for the same atimes. Her last two atimes totalled 7h42m yesterday and 7h48m today with the 20 min nap in there somewhere, so I think that tomorrow I'm going to shoot to lay her down at 7h45m total atime regardless of where the 20 min nap falls.

Is Ellen generally waking early??

Kim - we were getting EW but I think with this new schedule maybe no more? Today when I went in to wake her at 6 she was sleeping pretty hard and that was 11 hrs on the dot.

I just wish she would sleep till 2 pm though, oh how I wish( tv off/ phones turned off/ I stopped cleaning and am sitting on the couch with the laptop and a book holding my breath LOL )

Totally what I would do!! hehe ;D How did it go?

CC ~ yes, I've noticed the same thing.  On that schedule, Tara was tired a bit earlier in the evening than usual; I'd say absolutely try to shorten that last A time before bed if you can.  Don't be afraid of pulling BT way up if you have to; goodness knows when you make the transition it's going to be 6pm some nights!

We are still having 90-minute naps.  We seem to be in a rut.  I'm not sure what to do -- anyone want to look at my EASY and make some guesses?  I would really like to have more than 1.5 hours day sleep!

Between 7 and 7:30-ish, wake up
11:30 nap
1:00 wake up
6pm BT

Daylene,

yr Lo is having 13.5hrs nite!! That's plenty and mayb she has used up her quota of sleep in 24 hrs?

I have read in Ferber's book that the typical range of total hrs of sleep of 12months old is 11-12.5 hr. So mayb yr lo is robbing day sleep to give to the nite sleep?

Daylene, agree you can't expect to get much more sleep out if her! I would push 1st A time a bit as Olly is doing that on a 2 nap day already!

So operation one nap has failed miserably already!   We had our first ever long nw last night.  He's not only OT but also teething, has a bad cough and a bit of SA thrown in as well.  Ah the joys.  I put him down straight from the school run as we have his hosp apt. at 1045am so figured he'd need a sleep before we go although not sure if I've just heard him so maybe we won't be getting a sleep before we go after all!

Kirry, Kirry, where are you?!  I need you to sort out a workable routine for me, lol!  :-*
