changing daycares, how do you do the move?
« on: January 24, 2011, 20:14:41 pm »
Sorry, not sure if this is in the right area, feel free to move it otherwise.

This week we move into our new house and so I will be looking for a new daycare closer to home for Caleb. The thing is he really loves the one he is at and hes only been there three weeks or so. I would absolutely love to keep him there but its a 25min drive there, a 25min drive back and then the same at the end of the day. Now I dont mind doing the driving, its just I cant afford to use all that petrol doing this so I have to look closer to home.

How do I do this? hes already unsettled with the moving etc and is having a bit of seperation anxiety, how do I change his daycare gently so its not really difficult for him?

i think kids are resilient and he will adjust just fine! it will just take a bit of time to get used to the new place. plus, before you move him you could go over and visit the daycare with him a few times before dropping him off on his own.
