oh boy, what a morning. we had a great night. She woke uo at 6am then snoozed again until 7:10am I pushed her first A to 2hrs and 40 min and she gave me a 30min nap. ???  Guess that early waking was too much for her.  Forgot to mention, she is drooling, so teething can be playing a role here. I just put her down for her second nap and topped her up with some pain meds-just in case.

Oh dear - sorry to hear about the morning hun.  How long was she awake at the EW?  I agree, that it was likely a bit too much for her and the nap was likely OT.

Plus teething can definitely be the culprit.  We have had many ceaseless EWs from teeth and all it seems you can do is wait it out  :-\

She was awake for 45min before she fell back asleep. LOL. I brought her into my bed and was patting her back to sleep. It wasn't really an EW, as she went to bed at 7pm. I just didn't want to get up.  :P I really don't want to go through the teething phase again.  :'(

LOL, I know that feeling all too well :)  Many a time I would AP an EW because I was too darn tired to start the day.  But I do think that that could be what threw the nap off.

Teething can be tough I know.  Some days I wish he would just get them all in at once to get it overwith  :P

o.k so I got a one hour and 25min nap this morning. I don't know why she wont nap longer then that in the morning. I did get a two hour nap yesterday afternoon. I have noticed that she gives me one good nap, but her second nap is not that great. I am aiming for an A of 2hrs and 45min before her second nap.
What a difference from DD1. She would give me two two hour naps and slept all through the night.

update: she gave me a 1.5hour nap again. Now I am not sure if I should aim for a 6pm bedtime or try to fit in a 10min CN with a 7pm bedtime.

Oh wow, it does sound like you are making decent progress Sabrina.  I believe anything over 1.25-1.5 hrs is considered a restorative nap so it seems she is getting decent sleep.  Did she give you the 2 hr nap after the 1h25min one?

update: she gave me a 1.5hour nap again. Now I am not sure if I should aim for a 6pm bedtime or try to fit in a 10min CN with a 7pm bedtime.

What was the first nap?  I would try to still squeeze in a catnap to bridge the gap to bedtime.  It can be really hard to make it to a decent bedtime on less than 3 hrs A time.

You're doing great :)

She gave me a 1.5hour nap. I don't know why she can sometimes do a 2hour nap.  This morning's nap was one hour and 25min.

I remember my LO did this a lot.  One day he would give me a 2 hr nap, the next it would be back down to 1.5.  Couldn't quite find any rhyme or reason to it other than the fact that he is a very touchy baby when it comes to sleep, so even a 5-10 min difference could make the nap length different from day to day.

BUT - she is doing really well IMO :):):)

Afternoon nap was one hour and 40min. She woke up at the thirty minute mark then settled quickly. I just put her down for a CN at 6:10m. Was only going to let her nap for 15-20min. how long should A be until bedtime? I normally follow her cues here.

I will let you know how the next few days go.

thanks for all your help :-*

Wow, great naps there :)

how long should A be until bedtime?

I would think no more than an hour if you're doing that short of a catnap.

thanks for all your help Kiss

yes!  it has been a pleasure  :-*

Do you think that the CN is too close to bedtime? Yesterday she went to bed at 7pm and woke up at 6:21am this morning. Yawn!!!  Wondering if I should extend her CN and move bedtime to 7:30pm.

When exactly are you putting her down for the CN and for how long?  And then when is BT in relation to that?

Is she a 12 hr night sleeper?  If not, then I would be inclined to think that 6:21 wakeup is pretty decent - over 11 hrs - but still early for mom ;)

LOL. CN was 6-6:20pm and was asleep by 7pm.  It was an 11hour night. You are right, too early for mom. She was laughing and cooing as I was trying to snooze. Should I try a bedtime of 15min later?
