Generally speaking why do these tend to occur?

DD is having a right old time in the dead of night blowing raspberries and the like.  :P

Its just that I know at some point she'll get hungry as she doesn't consistantly sttn. I kinda wish I could be confident enough to turn off the monitor and only hear her when she really needs me iykwim.

Its not undertired for sure given that her naps arent that great ( not the worst either though but a pretty long A until bed ). I just cant see that she can be that OT or UT to justify these quite long wakings. And she's just so bloody happy, blethering away!  ;) So I'm guessing not OT either.

If they are happen, leave em. Its a sign of confidence!

 This I like.  ;D

My dd use to do this a lot when she was younger.  She would just be  babbling away happy as a clam and then she would just go back to sleep.  We could never figure it out but because she was happy so we just left her and listened to her on the monitor.   Sorry no real advice.

Are you referring to your 3 month old?  Is your LO trying to roll or anything?  Both of my kids have crib parties and like Stacy said, sometimes I just don't know why.  I do think that like us, they wake in the middle of the night and sometimes can't fall right back to sleep.  Think about what is going on in your head when you wake and imagine if you talked about it out loud. ;)
