Hi, i was just wondering why you recommend 3 hour feeding for babies up to 4 months, where as everyone else including the formula tin recommends 4 hourly after 2 month.
Thanks Anthea

Hi Anthea,

I think the suggestion from Tracy is 3 hourly up to 3 months, then 3.5 between 3 and 4 months, and finally 4 hourly at 4 months.  I can't say that I am familiar with other methods and schedules, but personally 4 hours for a 2 month old seem far too long, especially if they are solely breastfed.

Just my 2 cents! :)

It's also to do woth getting all the calories in during the day rather than overnight too iykwim. As your LO gets older and can take more food in then the time stretches out to allow that, otherwise snacking might start.

SOme BF bubs never make it to a 4 hour feeding routine until after6 months when solids are introduced.
