have I become I prop?
« on: February 05, 2011, 22:01:39 pm »
dd has just turned one and she was sleep trained when she was 7months old.

Everything went well until a week ago, she started to look for me when she was put into her cot. Before she would just roll to her tummy and go to sleep but now she'll raise her head and if she doesn't see me, she'll call me ( sometimes it's just a cry, sometimes it is mamama). I would tell her to go to sleep and she'll lie back down but this could repeat 5 to 30 times, for as long as 25mins (esp difficult at BT) and if I don't response, she'll stand up in her cot with tears rollling down her cheeks.

Is this just normal SA? Also at NW too, but I just need to use my voice to calm her, mayb pd once or twice if she pulls herself up.

I am going to move this over to toddler sleep since your DD is a year.

To me it sounds like normal SA issues.  Wi/wo might work well in this situation.  I would just steer clear of picking her up or resorting to anything else to get her to sleep.  You don't want to create a prop where there isn't one.

Hi!

I agree with Natalie about SA......WI/WO would be effective in helping her through this, especially as she is an independent sleeper.

Have a look at the link below & come back to me with any questions!  :)
