Silly Question..... Monster Truck Show?
« on: February 11, 2011, 19:09:42 pm »
Is a 16 month old too young to take to a Monster Truck show, even with headphones?  My husband is wanting/asking to take our son but, from what I remember, it was very, very loud last time I went....

Sorry about the silly question!

It has been so long since I have been to a monster truck show that I can't remember exactly how loud it gets but we took our lo's at about 3.5yr and 16mo to an air show where it got pretty loud.  We put some shooting headphones on the little one and she was happy as a clam- even got some adorable pictures of her squished face!  And the 3.5yo did fine with the overall noise- just jumped at the occasional sudden noise- but then so did I.   ;D

is it indoor?  I would be more worried about the fumes than the noise TBH

Tom took Finn a few weeks ago and decided it was too much for him at 22 mths.  I would say no at 16 mths.  It is very very very loud.

That said, Finn had a great time with the whole experience, going downtown, seeing all the people, but he did find it hard to stay still and he also wasn't a fan of having his ears covered but also didn't like the noise.  They left early lol

Save it for next year.

Heather I think 4 would be fine.  Just make sure you put ear protection on him.  But he would get more out of it for sure.
The tweaking never stops!

Its ventolated well in the places we go. Its very loud and can be boring inbetween trucks, stunts... but my 5 yr old loves it.  I think if he can keep the ear protection on, give it a shot!  But its seriously too loud without ear protection.  That age it may be too overwhelming or boring the more i think about it.

He loved it, but yeah too loud. That said, they are not as loud as an F1 car or even some other track cars and they are outside.

The loudest though is the jet-cars. They also had jet-atvs at the Monster Trucks, pretty cool but so loud I had to bury Finn's head into my shoulder and cover the other ear with 2 hands. They awere LOUD!

Also, yeah, lots of waiting around which could be a problem depending on the child :)
