Hi, just come to update our little one's situation, and have couple thing need to confirm...

Casper's sleep has been a lot better since we helped him quit the dummy. Since last week, he can sleep from 10/11pm~4:30/5:30am. His current EASY is:

A: Wake up at 7:30, a bit tummy time
E: 8:00am 150ml Milk
A: 9:00am Rice 2tsp
S: 10:00am 1.5hrs
A: 11:30am, tummy time, and play in his own cot
E: 12:00 150ml Milk
A: 1:00pm egg yolk
S: 2:00pm 1.5hrs
E: 3:30pm 150ml Milk
A: 4:30pm Carrots.
    6:30pm Bath
E: 7:00pm 180ml Milk
S: 7:30~8:00pm
E: dream feeding at 10~11pm

Well, probably you can tell from his EASY, that we started giving him dream feeding again...From the book, I know when bb is 6~9months old, we suppose to stop the dream feeding... but we found if we didn't do dream feeding, he always woke up at 1am, and took about 100+ml milk. There was one night, he suddenly woke up at 10pm. He couldn't stop crying till we fed him 120ml milk. and then he slept till 5:30am that night. since then, we decided to get dream feeding back. and it seems works pretty good to us.

So, here comes some new questions..

1. are we doing the right thing of getting the dream feeding back now?
2. When he woke up @ 4:30 in the morning, he only took 40~60ml milk. And I think that definitely disturb his appetite for the breakfast @7:30am. The problem is, if we ignored him, he will keep crying very loudly..He seems very short tempered at that time.
3. We just moved him to a seperated room last night. He seems fine with that till 7am. He normally woke up with a good mood. But this morning we were literarlly woken up by his screaming....I don't know if that is something to do with leaving him alone in the room...

All in all, we have a lot better night sleep than before.. Hope our experience can give other mummys some help...

I would suggest not letting him sleep longer than 1.5 hours for his first nap.

Really sorry to hijack this thread just wondering is there a reason why you should only give a 1.5 hr nap in the am? my son sleeps for 2 hrs always which I love as I can get loads done in that time .. we are also struggling with night wakings ..

thanks alot & sorry again Jenny for butting in xx

So glad things are improving!

If the DF is working, just keep it for now.  In a month, you can re-evaluate.  He may just tell you he is done with it at some point.

About the 4 am feeding, we struggled with this too. What I did, was only offer 1/2 of what he would normally take.  It seemed to appease him and I was able to get him to take a full bottle come wake up.

Waking up screaming is hard to tell.  See what happens tomorrow.

Hi Jenny,
YAY so glad things are getting better for you & casper! :-)
I didn't drop the dreamfeed until DD was 10/11 months old. She still drank a lot, and we were moving house at the time & I didn't want any big changes in her routine, so I kept on dreamfeeding until she started to take less & we had moved.

Like mmom, no idea why he could be waking up screaming. What's his mood like in general? He *could* be teething, or unwell.

@Cashie, it's suggested to cap the nap@ 1.5hrs so you don't end up with a day longer than 12 hrs... and all the NWs could be UT/OT cycling around, like casper. Do you have a thread with your EASY posted on it?

Keep us posted Jenny!
