Steph I hear you, Finn had a short nap yesterday because we got him down too late (short for us is 1.5 hrs) and then he was baked by 8 p.m. when we put him to bed. As soon as the TV show finished he turned to DH and leapt into his arms and put his head down...'take me to bed daddy' is what his actions said. DH had to brush his teeth while I held him lol
Bedtime lately has been us getting him down with a battle at 7:30 and him playing until he's OT after 8. Then we get an EW to compound the issue. It has sucked. So you can see the contrast when we put him down when he's actually tired enough.
He slept nearly 11.5 hours last night lol We first heard him at just before 7 and then he went back to sleep until nearly 7:30! So it does show that he will tack on sleep when pushed hard enough, but for us at the moment it's not sustainable. Maybe someday.
Anyway, what I am saying is that as long as these kiddos need more A time and still have a decent length nap I think we end up with some later bedtimes. If you want him waking at 7 mostly then you are looking at 8 bedtime earliest. But if his sleep needs have dropped then you may end up having to cut the nap. Or accept the 10 hr nights and a longer nap. I would play it by ear just now because with teeth in the picture you can't get a true sense of what's what.
Certainly entertaining a toddler for more than 12 hrs a day is hard enough and to have them up at what is supposed to be your own downtime at night...eeek!
