Naps when unwell
« on: February 18, 2011, 14:31:51 pm »
Hi, my ds (2 & 1/2) has a sore throat and slight fever at the moment. He was very unwell last night, but slept through (9 & 1/2 hours rather than 11 but went to bed late) and is much more himself today.
He generally naps for 2 hours during the day. I'm not sure whether to let him nap as long as he wants this afternoon, or wake him after his usual 2 hours.
Instinct says let him sleep as he's under the weather, but I don't want him to go to bed late tonight as he will have a reduced night's sleep again. What do you think?
Thanks

The general view from people is to let them sleep as long as they want when they're sick.   :-*

Yep agreed.  It's what I do when I'm sick so I expect the same for my kid.
The tweaking never stops!

I've always let my 2 sleep as much as they want when sick and it's been fine...  Both of mine sleep more when they are sick, then go back to normal on their own when better...

As it happens, he woke after his normal nap time in any case, but thanks for the comments.
