I got a call from daycare yesterday that Dylan had thrown up right after nap - his carer said she had never seen so much puke, his entire lunch an then some. In the 20m it took me to get there he threw up twice more, then threw up on me when I got there, and again as soon as we got home. Then twice more. No fever. I was nearly sure that something from lunch must have disagreed with him - no fever, the sudden and violent puking, and his relatively good mood in between bouts. I was assured that everything was safe for him, and that no other children were sick from it so it wasn't spoiled.
Well, now he's fine. Running around like a crazy man. So I called and said that something must have disagreed with him, could they please double check.
Lo and behold, the pepperoni said 'may contain traces of milk ingredients'.
I am livid. Fortunately he *just* threw up and nothing more serious. His contact reaction is hives and swelling so it could have been much worse. If the daycare hadn't been SO good thus far I would consider finding a new one. But I don't know what to do as I don't want to get the cook in trouble (she goes out of her way all the time to make extra items for Dylan) but at the same time I don't want to minimize it and say 'dont worry, it's ok' when it most certainly is not.
Ugh.
