Thread length and bandwidth from server
« on: March 21, 2011, 20:23:35 pm »
there does not seem to be great link  ???

And def none that says 30 pages... Is it possible to up that number to 50 or a 100? It's most likely quite unnecessary.

It would save a lot of work, right?

Not sure either what you mean Steffi, sorry.  We do start new threads after 30 pages+ as a reader friendly move, rather than a forum/server issue.  This way the thread does not get too long and overwhelming especially if you are looking for something in back posts.  30 is a great number IMHO based on hears of seeing it in action. The threads seemed to evolve, change, fall off the radar, peter out or need a new update and a reboot for all to follow on from or perhaps join new.

As a mod/GM I do not find it work to do this, it is part of the job description I signed up for.  I like to see the boards reader friendly and tidy, so it is a pleasure lol!

HTH ???

A x

Now, that answers it, I remember the 1000 pages threads.
