Update. She's been in bed for 3 hrs.  2 of those have been screaming hours. I'm not doing pu/pd unless she gets up right? I'm just sitting by her crib, talking to her or singing and patting, rubbing, right?  It seemed to work so well earlier. Every 40 min she is waking up screaming!

Sorry for the rough night....it is totally normal for there to be some regression after a few days of sleep training so don't lose heart!

If she's lying down crying then I think what you were doing patting her back etc is the right thing to do. If she stands up then lie her back down & re-assure her that it's sleep time etc.

How did your night end up?

She finally fell solidly asleep at 11:30 and slept until 2:30 and then she woke up and wanted to nurse, and since I hadn't nursed her since 645 I fed her and then put her back down awake. Took 5 min to fall asleep with crying and fussing. Slept until 4:00am. Woke up for 30 min and cried the whole time. Fell back asleep and slept until 6:00am. I nursed her and she slept until 7:00am. She has a horrible cough now today and a very runny nose. I'm not sure if I should keep training her or give her the extra sleep and cuddles and try this again when she's better?????
HELP!

We usually recommend not to sleep train whilst your LO is poorly, but it's your call.

I would say if you decide to ease up on it to try to not create any additional habits that you are only going to have to break once she's better.

I kept at the sleep training last night and it went pretty well until about 4 am when I just put her in bed with me. Only about 1 hr of crying total last night.
