Egg replacement help!
« on: March 12, 2011, 20:16:19 pm »
I got some Egg replacer like an idiot i didnt read it properly i saw dairy wheat ect free

and I suddenly thought well whats it made with then looked and its blummin Soya we are soya free

Im not sure on how she will react to the small amounts but right now we are having reflux issues so don't want to trial it at this moment plus with the ranitidine issues we have no night time sleep so no way lol

so... what can i use instead of eggs espcially in cakes?

applesauce, bananas, flax, oil...I usually go with applesauce in cakes, about 2 tbsp to replace each egg.

Applesauce is our go-to substitute here too, though I use about 1/4cup per egg :)

Will the applesauce still have cakes rising?

I've never had it not work...and it makes it nice and moist too!  The only cake I can't see working would be Angelfood cake as it has so many egg whites in it, but I'm not a big fan of it so never make it.
