Cinnamon
« on: March 12, 2011, 15:11:17 pm »
Hi ladies!
DS has woken up today with a bumpy rash all over his belly, back, neck and a bit on his face. The only new food he had yesterday was a sprinkle of cinnamon on his rice pudding. Is this a common allergen? He's not bothered by it, it doesn't seem itchy or painful. Thanks!

I'm not sure how common it is, but my sister is allergic to cinnamon.  She gets a rash around her mouth and her throat gets itchy.

Could it have been anything else?  Virus, new clothing or detergent, etc?  Has he ever had cinnamon before?

Hi Vikki! I'm racking my brain trying to remember if I washed his clothes in the wrong detergent or put a different cream on him - he has really sensitive skin. Hopefully, I just slipped up somewhere and it will disappear. He's never had cinnamon before so that's why I thought it might be the cause. If it's not better by Monday, I will call his doctor.
