Filter replies from OP...Is it possible?
« on: March 14, 2011, 15:09:23 pm »
Sometimes support threads for individual problems get really long and have pages  full of other members posting one liners offering hugs. I think this is great for the OP but sometimes when I am looking for updates I often think it would be really useful to be able to filter the thread and only see replies from the OP to be sure I haven't missed them among the pages of well wishers.
Is this possible?

I know I can look at their last posts but sometimes this isn't any easier when they are an active member responding to numerous posts each day.

when a thread has new replies there will be a little blue new rectangle behind the title.  click on that and it will take you where you last left the thread

Thanks Lana,
What I actually mean though is that in the 24hrs that may pass between me last looking at a thread and checking again there might have been 3 pages of new replies and I sometimes just want to quickly look at any that are updates from the OP rather than having to read all the replies from other people which often just say {{{hugs}}.

Oh that would be nice, Ali!  I don't think there's any feature like that that I've been able to find.  :(  Brillant idea, though!

This is what I do...

Click on their username, and you get the page with some of their details on.
Scroll down to the bottom - you get some choices like send a personal message..
The second option is to view all their post (worded something like that), so whilst you may still have to click through and see other posts that they have replied to, you will eventually find replies to their posts.

Yeah I do that too Alex but when they are only updating their support thread every few days and yet log on every day and reply to others' posts it is just as bad sometimes. Handy if they aren't that active though.
Plus I worry they will see me looking at their profile/last posts and thing I am stalking them LOL  ;D Guess they would have to be looking at mine to see though.
