Breast feeding 10 mo old - how many times per day?
« on: March 16, 2011, 18:31:27 pm »
My 10 mo old has been slowly becoming less interested in solids. I BF 4 times per day and am wondering whether this could be interfering - she is now BFing longer than before (like 20 mins at a time). Should I cut her feeds down to 3?

Also, she is now uninterested in breakfast (there is no way I can get her to eat her cereal or any puree) even though I make muffins (with cereal) in them. I usually BF first thing in the morning but am wondering if anyone has had success with offering solids first instead?

thanks for your help ... this is so hard!

I think most moms will keep 4 BFs a day up until a year.  But at this age, I think if you want to try offering solids first then go ahead.  Experiment with timings to see what works.  Also, don't worry if she doesn't seem as hungry for her breakfast.  Some people (adults and babies alike) just aren't as hungry in the morning.  That's ok too.  :)
