That could definitely affect things (both behavior and eating). Have you tried meds an hour before meals - either conventional/ibuprofen or even just rubbing some Hyland's teething gel or the like on his gums?

Not before meals, no. I will definitely give that a try as him not eating affects his behavior even more! Thanks!

In addition to the discomfort, teething stimulates saliva production (by increasing histamine), he may not be drooling but he could be dealing with a lot more spit, and when he eats, even more saliva is created and it could all be too much lol.

Also if it is painful, he may not be chewing as well, and swallowing a bigger, less chewed bolus of food, could cause gagging.

Ok well that all makes great sense! Now hopefully these teeth come in quickly (who al I kidding? His teeth don't come in quickly!) and he will be back to normal in no time!
