My DD was never a fan of meat - she'd just chew on one small piece and spit it out after 10 mins!! She started eating meat from about 2.5yrs. She loved salami first then ham, but moved on to meat dinner (not cold cuts), we started with easy chicken nugget type things as they seem to be processed chicken (or pre-chewed chicken, as I call it :) ) - not great nutritionally, i know, but it got her in the habit of actually chewing food/meat. She loved fish tho - guess it is easier to break down in the mouth and lots of eggs and pulses. She now eats all meats.

Keep offering, maybe he's just a lazy eater and the chewing is too much effort at this age?

DD still will not eat meat unless it is a processed chicken nugget or a store bought meat ball.  Following along :)

My DS wont' even do chicken nuggets or meatballs (though he USED to do both, as well as small pieces of brisket/pot roast). Quite frustrating. He will sometimes do bacon.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My friend's son is 11 and still doesn't like meat but her daughter is a carnivore. He may grow out of it or he may always not really like it. You can replace the protein with fish, pulses, eggs, cheese, yoghurt. I also give DS smoked tofu which i get from the health food store, its a very healthy source of protein and because its smoked all I have to do is slice it and dice it and he eats it with is fingers, he loves it. A visit to your health food store and a chat with them should be able to point you in the direction of some tasty things

Colin never liked meat at all, until I offered him something to dip it in!

Beans (all sorts), quinoa, greek yogurt, and tofu are the big ones around here....

Does he do pizza? I make my own here - I chop tons of veggies to put under the sauce but sometimes I also add ground meat and blend it all up together. He loves it and is getting tons of veggies, iron, protein, etc at once!

We have also switched over to greek yogurt (with fruit puree or a touch of honey added) here as it has more protein than regular.

Does he do smoothies? You can add tofu or whey protein to those.
