Mukta, I was thinking of moving this over the BFing but if you meant for it to be more of a solids post I can move it to Eating for Toddlers if you like (since DS2 is over a year now  :o)  Please let me know.   :-*

Otherwise, we are not quite dropping day feeds yet so not much help from me!

if you drop a milk feed it should be the 5 am one - don't drop day feeds until the night feeds are all gone.  you want the calories from milk coming during the day, not night.

it also depends on what naps look like...
when we were on 2 naps (9-13 mo) both dds had 4 milk feeds a day - morning, before nap 1, before nap 2 and before bed, when we went to 1 nap (14 mo or so) we also went down to 3 milk feeds a day - morning, before nap and before bed.

5 milk feeds for his age does seem like too many, but i wouldn't drop the day ones until the 5 am is gone and at his age he shouldn't need that one.

I just thought I would give you another opinion...not saying mine is right, just sayin' I just went  through this and this is what I did :D

Not sure exactly how old your LO is, but right about 12mo (a little before and a little after) DD started having a 530nf.  She is EBF all from breast (refused all bottles and was not good with sippy) and she was on a good amount of solids (BLW).

She was still doing 4 day feeds when she started the 5am thing, but her 2 mid day feeds were very quick and more of a habit than her really needing food.  SO, I cut one of the mid day feeds to make the other one larger.  So then she was having 3 big day feeds instead of 2 big 2small.  I know the 5am feed was bc she was just plain hungry.  She was sleeping 12-13hr nights as she went to 1nap early (spirited) and could not make it all night without that feed. (she is small, in the <3%).

The GS ended and now at 13mo and 1day, she has dropped down to 2 BF by herself.  I offer and she says NO or signs to nurse when she wants to nurse.  She actually dropped the first morning feed and is now BFing before her nap and before bed.

So just another experience in case you think it fits your situation :)
