13week old started waking during night for a feed
« on: April 22, 2011, 06:44:31 am »
My DD has been sleeping through the night from 8 weeks but consistently since 10 weeks. This week she has been awake around 03:30 - 04:30 she starts crying if we try to settle her so we have been feeding her 120mls which she takes no problem.

She is now refusing to drink at 07:00 when she gets up.  I have been waiting until 07:30 but with no luck.

Any suggestions as I dont want her thinking she should feed at 03:30 rather than 07:00.  ???

I'm new to BW forum but have been following for the past 6 weeks.

Here is our EASY

0700 E
0700 - 0830 A
0830 - 1015/1030 S     We have been sleep training, as we had 45min naps. Been able to extend this.

1100 E
1030 - 1200 A
1200 - 1330 S

1415 E
1330 - 1515 A
1515 - 1600 S

1600 - 1815 A with Bath
1815/1830 E
1830/1845 S

2300 E (dreamfeed)

Any advice would be most welcome :)

How much is she taking at her feeds during the day? It could be that she is going through the 3 month growth spurt so does need a few extra calories for a while. It may be that she needs a 3.5 feed cycle rather than a 4 hour cycle for a few days to get a bit extra in her.

I'm not sure where in the world you are, but if it's UK for example it has been really warm here so she could actually be thirsty rather than hungry at that night wake. Formula fed babies do need a bit of extra water where breastfed babies don't because they don't get the thirst quenching fore milk.

thanks for answering so promptly, yes I am in the uk (scotland) I didnt think that it might be that she is just thirsty will try with the water tonight.  I make up 180mls but she rarely finishes a bottle mostly taking 120 - 150mls.

Enjoy your weekend  :)
