Hi there
well, DD wakes about 5am for a feed and then doesn't want to feed at 7 so it is usually about 8am she has her first feed. Since my last post I have really tried to extend her naps - waiting for her to stir at around 40 mins and ssshhhh her back to sleep) this sometimes helps but most of the time, she wakes and has a 15 minute fussing time in her cot before going back to sleep again for another 45 mins. She just can't stay awake for very long either. Her sleep window starts after an hour! Is that normal? If I try to keep her going it results in a total melt down and screaming fits.
Here is how we are working at the mo...
E - 8am
A-8.15am - 9am
S-9.15 max
wakes up at 10am, fusses until 10.20 ish then sleeps till 11 when I go in to wake her for her next feed. (should I wake her or let her sleep?)
E-11am
A- 11.15 - 12
S- 12 - 1pm. This is the hardest nap to extend. She wakes after 45 mins and then has a melt down because she is so tired. Nothing seems to work and I end up picking her up and letting her sleep the rest of the nap in my arms.
E-2pm
A - 2.15 - 3pm
S
- 3.-5pm this is the easiest nap and she seems to sleep through no probs. However, she has this one downstairs in the living room so maybe that's why...
E5pm
A- bath time 5.15
E- 6.30
S 7pm - she is normally very quick to settle at this time and sleeps peacefully until the dream feed at 11pm
Any advice on transitioning 45 minute naps, extending A time would be more than welcome. Or just to hear that it's ok for baby to be this tired!
