45 minute naps
« on: May 06, 2011, 12:56:59 pm »
Hi, my baby is 3 months and 2 weeks old. She can fall asleep by herself in her crib and is following a 3.5 /4hr EASY routine but she always wakes up after 45 minute and cannot fall asleep again. Isn't it strange as she fall asleep by herself in the crib and then after she can't fall asleep by herself again?
Most of the times she sucks her thumb but when she does that to fall asleep again, apparently she cannot calm herself.
I have been using the shhh and PU/PD strategy this week but I'm afraid i will have to use that forever.....
Thanks

hi im having a similar problem.. my little girl is 11 weeks old. i hav had her on E.A.S.Y for about 3-4 weeks now and she is doin great except for the short naps. she is generally easy to get over 2 sleep wen i put her in her room usually within 5-10 mis. I put her down close the curtains, give her the dummy and a kiss and leave the room. But 30- 40 mins later she wakes again. I dont go in2 her unless she starts 2 cry wen i do i give her the dummy again and leave the room. sometimes i will only hav 2 do this once r twice and sometimes i cud hav 2 do 10 times by which time its time 4 her nxt feed. wen i put her down again its the same thing.

I hav no prblem getting her 2 sleep at night she usually goes down at 8 r 9 and sleeps until 6-7 which is great and cant understand why she sleeps so well at night but not during the day. I dont know if i shud keep going in during the day and giving her the dummy or wud that b considered a prop? any advice wud b great :)

If you guys post your EASY schedules the ladies here should be able to give you some feed back

How long are their awake times? Here is the link for optimal awake times

I noticed since I increased my A times with my 16week old, the naps are slowly getting better

My 7 week old has started a trend of 30-45 min naps this last 2 weeks. At first I didn't think anything of it, but not it's happening all the time.
we are on a 3 hr easy starting at 630-7am
I don't know what to do with her when she wakes up way way early until her E time. I've tried putting her back to sleep, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I spend up to an hour trying to get her back to sleep, then it's time for her next feed so I give up. It's exhausting!! I've tried WTS a few times. But it's hard because it looks like to me like she's hardly ever in deep sleep. I don't try it unless she looks like she's in deep sleep, or else there's no point I think.
Please help.
