Hi Everyone,

Sorry you'll find this topic twice in the forum because I've had some lovely support but no advice, therefore I tried to remove the first one and get some eyes on this one: If a moderator can remove the other one that's fine.

So here goes. My life has been rather full of EW over the last year. My son is 15 months old now. A few weeks ago after many days of EW and after trying many alternatives we made the 2 to 1 nap jump. DS is an angel baby and usually copes with OT well if he is occupied. When we last made the jump he took to it really well and his EASY was as follows:

Wake 6.30

Nap  11.10  ('A' time 4.40)

Wake 1.10  (occasionally a shorter nap of 1.30 mins or 1hr 45 mins)

Bedtime  PD 7.00  ('A' time 6.50)

DS handles a longer 'A time much better in the afternoon which is great as it makes for a good nights sleep.

So: all was well when he suffered ear infections. He had only been in the new routine 9 days. This was about 6 weeks ago now. Since recovering I allowed him to nap following cues and long naps to catch up as he was severly OT. Then I tried to go back to the above to no avail. The main problem being the most he is giving me is 1 hr 15 nap. So I have tried giving him a short PM nap, and also tried just getting him through to BT (a very long 7 hrs 'A' time, bad I know) Sometimes Sam is taking the choice away from me and refusing PM nap. The early wakings go on, between 4.45 and 5.20.

Yesterday I was determine to stick to what worked for us before so I PD in cot after 4.40 'A' time. He fussed for 30 minutes then screamed for 5. Sam is a very placid baby and is usually asleep within 5 minutes of PD, he rarely fusses. So after 35 minutes he was so upset I abandoned nap with a view to trying again in 20 minutes or so. After cuddles and calming down I put him in his chair to chill out and watch Peppa Pig and 5 minutes later he was asleep. Transfered to cot, woke with more screaming and was asleep (I had to leave him to it as intevention was making him worse) within 3 minutes. So he was obviously OT at PD. He definetely wasn't OT at the start of the week, the only reason it may have built up is PM nap refusal on the previous 2 days siiigh  Cry.

So TBH I could do with some inspirations as to my next move  Huh Yesterday and today I tried W2S. He woke at 5.30 yesterday and 4.55 today  Roll Eyes. I went in at 3am though, which I was advised would be okay but I thought it had to be 1 hour before  Huh The reason I decided to go in earlier was because he would be very close to a full nights sleep and could wake for the day, but again I don't know if W2S works when Lo is having a full night's sleep, can you extend that  Huh

Thanks for listening to me rant. I'm fed up this morning.

x.

ETA: asleep after 2hrs 45 mins 'A' time and straight to sleep. Slept 1.5 hrs, so OT and needed that short 'A' time  Sad
