My 12 mt old daughter has started screaming around 3-4 a.m. for the past few nights. She went through a growth spurt a few weeks ago, and she doesn't seem to be teething. When she had NW before, it would start with her fussing on and off. She has never actually screamed before.
She has been sleeping through the night for the past two weeks, which was lovely, but then the new NW started a few days ago. Nothing in her routine has changed. Last night we even tried giving her a bottle, and she was content until it finished, then back to crying again. I changed her diaper, read her a story, and then put her back to bed. It was only after 2 hours that she finally went back to sleep. I think out of exhaustion. Once a LO is OT, what is the best thing to do to help them get back to sleep on their own?
Here is her EASY:
E: 6 am Wake and 6 oz bottle (homo milk)
8 am Solids
A: 6-9:30
S: 9:30-11:00 (11:30) (She gets a 6 oz bottle at each nap)
E: Wakes around 11-11:30 Solids
A: 11:30-2:30
S: 2:30-3:30 (4:00) (6 oz bottle with this nap)
E: Wakes at 4, gets solids
A: 4:00-6:30 (7:00) Bath, bottle (8 oz.), and bed.
She goes down without a fuss and sleeps until 3 or 4, then the screaming starts.
She takes full naps, so she’s not ready to transition from 2:1 nap. She’s happy when she wakes during the day, and even in the morning. Nothing in her diet has changed, and since the bottle didn’t even help last night, I don’t think she’s hungry?? If she were just fussing, I wouldn’t think as much of it, but it’s the waking with screaming that concerns me. Once I’m in the room, she’s okay (standing up in her crib), but still very sleepy. Could it be a night terror?
HELP!
