From 2-3 months, DS only took a few 45 minute naps during the day but was doing well at night. he would go down around 7, wake up between 1-2 to eat, and right back to sleep till around 6. At 3 months we found out that DS hadn't gained weight in a month, and worked to correct the feeding issue. DS is now 3.5 months, and is gaining weight rapidly. In 2 weeks he went from 11 pounds to 12.5 pounds, and his naps are greatly improving, although he still is not a great napper, and wakes many times during a nap. Here is our daytime EASY right now-he hasnt been hungry at the 3 hour mark, so hes been going 3.5 hours between some feeds.
E 615 6 ounces
S 745 (he will go down pretty easily, but always wake up 30-45 minutes later. sometimes just giving the paci a few times can stretch the nap another hour, other times that next hour is a battle. this applies to all his daytime naps)
E 945 6 ounces
S 1115 (same deal as before)
E 115 6 ounces
S 245 (this nap is the hardest)
E 415 or even 4- 4 ounces (i reduced this feed, cause he wasnt eating his full bottle before bedtime)
E 615 6 ounces
S 630
no DF for various reasons
I pushed his bedtime earlier, because that is when hes getting tired.
Now the night situation-he's been doing this weird thing of waking up as early as 12 or even 1130 which he never did before. I'm pretty sure he's hungry. Ive been trying to use the paci and comfroting to push him along, and I can get him to wait until 130 to eat, but I am not getting any rest between that first wakeup and when I finally feed him. This is exhausting and I'm wondering if it's worth it? With 4 ounces at 130, he's been waking up at 515, but can be pushed to 615 with paci/comforting. I wonder if this is a growth spurt since hes finally putting on weight, but I also dont want to reinforce bad nightime habits. I don't see how I can increase his food more during the day-I think 6 ounces is his limit right now. I know I should probably up his nightime feed to 6 ounces, but is there any way to get rid of that midnight wakeup? should I just wait to see if it passes? Sorry for the long post-TIA!
