lunch then nap, or nap then lunch ?
« on: May 29, 2011, 11:09:45 am »
Hi

Tyler is 18 months old, at the moment he naps anytime from about 11 am (apart from in nursery), as a result he doesn't have his lunch until about 2-2.30.  he does a snack before he goes to sleep, either fruit or healthy kiddie biccie.  We've tried pushing this nap back but he always ends up falling asleep in the car or being grumpy so he ends up with a later lunch, snack about 4 and then tea is usally about 6.

Do you think I should be trying to give him lunch before nap so he has something substantial to nap on ?

when my DD was napping at this time i would split her lunch so she would have half of it before and half after.so maybe cheese, some ham and crackers before, then when she woke yoghurt, fruit etc maybe something savoury here too. HTH x

Depends on your LO really. With DS he really doesn't eat well until quite late in the afternoon so lunch after his nap suits him best. If you feel he's waking hungry then try changing things around but if he seems happy as things are then don't worry about it.
My husband is running 13.1 miles in the Great North Run in memory of my brother. Please can you help us raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association in his memory?
