struggle to increase feeds
« on: June 07, 2011, 20:20:15 pm »
hi there
My DD has become efficient at eating apparently!  She finishes a fed in about 10 minutes now.  I can tell she has had a good amount because my breast is much softer.  However.....  she always stops because of tummy gripes, needing to vomit, wind...  it never seems just a natural resting stop.  After the wind/gripes/vomit.... i can not for the life of me encourage her to get back on or try the other breast.  I try leaving it a while and offering it again and she just has a tantrum and is totally uninterested any time i go near her offering a feed.

Many times in the book, Tracy mentions upping the amount of day calories.  I am really struggling to do this  :-[

I would say that if she's resisting the breast she's just not hungry! Spit up often looks like a much larger volume than it actually is (spill 1/2 an oz of milk on the counter and it looks like much more!) so she is likely keeping down a good volume. I'm assuming no reflux in the picture?

If you want to post your routine I'll have a look :)
