Keep perservering with it and giving it when they are calm and happy or sleepy/sleeping is better than trying when they are upset as they're much less likely to accept something unfamiliar then.
Both my BF babies had/have dummies and it never interfered with BF. Bottles are far more risky for that. DD1 had one from day 5, she was super sucky! Accepted first one straight away. DD2 had one from 3wo. She took more time to accept it and get used to it, they are all so different.
I know many mums who got their baby o accept a dummy/bottle first time in their sleep. It seems a good way of getting them used to it :)
Good luck and keep us posted!

I got all 3 of mine on pacis by bf'ing them almost to sleep and popping it in there while still cuddled quite tight in whatever nursing position they were in. I agree with the Nuk, although E went back and forth on various types and I finally went for one that I didn't have to flip around in the middle of the night.

Vicki you're giving me hope.  Were you able to eventually stop bfing them to sleep and just give them the paci? How old were they when it finally happened?

Believe it or not within a week of doing it. E was much faster but she's a different baby. She would pass out anywhere but I started it within 2 days of birth with J when she was in the NICU and on an IV so really only comfort feeding anyhow.

E's first night in hospital was spent nursing for a full 6 hrs :o. My milk came in on day 2, the paci started on day 3 and she was taking it very well at 2 weeks.

There IS hope :-*
