Bedtime prayers
« on: June 12, 2011, 18:19:09 pm »
Hi, My DS is 27 months and I want to start saying prayers at bedtime. Has anyone got any cute prayers they say with their LO at bedtime? X

Hi Michelle
Here is a really sweet prayer:

Lord, bless my little sleepy head,
Let holy angels guard my bed,
May they watch all through the night,
And keep me safe till morning light,
Then nothing ever shall come near
To do me harm or cause me fear.

Hope this helps :-)

This is not really a prayer but it is cute and in a lullaby book Leorah got given as a baby:

Go to sleep my baby
close your pretty eyes
Angles are above us,
peeping through the skies.

God is in His Heaven,
and he watch doth keep.
Time for little babies
all to go to sleep.

For the longest time we have said a prayer to the angels before bed and everynight my dd calls "Angels, Tinkerbell, come and watch me sleep!"  because at that time she called all fairies tinkerbells  :D

I always pray with my DD although she can't speak yet! But I normally go for the spontaneous ones, no rhymes and stuff. Just thank God for the day and ask Him to bless our families and give us a good night of sleep.

I'm sure they work well too! :)
