Good update from us... small question
« on: June 25, 2011, 20:29:59 pm »
So after our blip with the unripe pear i thought I would update on how A. is doing...

So having ripe pear puree everyday she has tollerated it fine... infact we had an almost normal BM not our usual sulpher smelling green loose ones... this was mustardy with a bit of form and only slightly eggy lol

I was over the moon... knowing its not just her gut will react to everything... so much i have actually brought in a second food :D Swede (sticking onto low sal veg atm)

Erm one question though, can we try chicken even though she reacts to eggs?

Hey I'm not too sure but our dietician told us the "safest" meat is lamb...(lamb, rice and pears being the safest diet allergy wise that anyone can have apparently)
Yay to the normal poo ;D
Blessed mum to two home-birthed darling water babies

We had problems with chicken & beef when my ds was younger. We are still unsure about chicken to be honest but he eats bef without a problem. Turkey and lamb were ok once James was between 12 and 18 months. very child is different though.

Kelly, did he have allergies or intolerances?  Was the proteins in the meats the issue, do you think?  Just curious  :)

James has multiple food allergies. He was not tested for beef or chicken, we were just told to avoid if they were causing issues. It is possible that they were an allergy rather than a intollerance but will probably never know for sure. If they were allergies then it is more than likely the protein that was causing the issue.

Louisa - I'm just curious if you had any luck with the Swede? I just tried C on some swede today and she totally refused it.  We are on the sloooow weaning train and after getting green mucous from baby rice, I've only been giving her pears for about 2 weeks.  I'm ready to move onto another low allergen/chemical food and swede was it but she is having none of it.  Aside from chicken, what else are you thinking about trying her on?
