Ohhh Sara, since this thread is new, could I wrack your brain on another quick question please??

We're extending A times right now. For this last nap, he cried out at 25m but went back to sleep. So I thought "slightly OT...maybe 5 minutes too long on that last A time." But then a couple minutes later he just laid there with his eyes open for a few minutes...then went back to sleep. Then he cried at the 45m mark and I had to go in and settle him. While I was settling him, he would open his eyes and just stare at me so I had to cover them. He went back to sleep and it seems he will last for the rest of his nap.

So, was my initial call of OT right, do you think? Or UT since he laid there with his eyes open and really cried at the 45 m mark?

I'm not sure, tbh...I would see if this continues/becomes a pattern.  He's still getting used to the longer A time, so let's keep an eye on it.

thanks for checking in Sara :) Things are much better. We doing full 2 hr A times now except for the first which is 1 hr 40/45m! So, I suspect what happened that one day was UT...I think the clue is him lying there with eyes open, like your DS would do.

He took a full 2.5 hr nap this morning so no complaints! :)

You're telling me, lol! When I wake him after 2 hrs he's so cranky - he definitely needs that long morning nap. At least for now anyway.
