My LO did that up until about 15 months, perhaps later, and then went through more wobbly stages as her sleep needs kept changing. We had the same no. of NW and also very loooong ones like your describe and wake-ups of 5am. It was torture and did indeed drive me insaine. And she was a independent sleeper - could put herself to sleep after a NW IF she wanted to and wasn't in pain.
Two things I found - she is actually low sleep needs and dropped to one nap at about 11 months, v v occassionally had two naps but hardly at that stage.
She's now on one nap at 22 months and just under an hour with an 8 /8.30 bedtime. A 2 hr nap resulted ina 10pm bedtime - ouch.
Anyway, waffle waffle, it did and does get better. She does have wobbly bits when her naps are too long and she wakes for hours and EW then so I have to be brutal and cut them.
Then again, she's pretty hardcore and can fight sleep in even a carseat and a pram, so is a bit of an enigma!
It gets better, ours improved a lot after 18months xx
