7 month old refusing foood

Hi All!
Since starting solids my DS has dropped her milk feeds down to about 15oz a day! We offer her 8 three times a day but she just isnt interested! She does have yogharts and some form of cheese every day but i was wondering if this was enough? She has been on solids wince 17 weeks and is on hungry baby milk.
Also over the past week she has begun to refuse solids. Nothing has really changed with her, she has started to sleep through the night better and her routine hasnt changed. She is happy feeding herself but im not sure what to give her as finger foods for every meal.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Is she teething perhaps?

Her bottom two teeth came through about 5 or 6 weeks ago and there are no signs of any more coming through. She refused her tea again but then ate some pitta and brocolli. When she does self feed its more just little bits and im worried she isnt eating enough.

If she prefers feeding herself then I would focus on that rather than forcing her to eat from a spoon. It's ok that she is only eating a little bit of finger foods, it takes most babies quite a few months to get the hang of it. It's really all about practice. Here is a link with some more helpful advice:

Keep focusing on her milk feeds too as they are still most important.

Thankyou!
We are trying with the milk but after a couple of ounces she just doesnt seem interested. She seems happy enough and the HV are happy with her weight gain I just dont want her missing out on the key nutrients the milk provides.

I would cut solids if I had to... she needs a minimum of 20 ozs each day

Her milk intake is on the low side, but I do wonder if it is a phase. Definitely keep an eye on it, and decrease solids as you see fit to hopefully encourage her to take more milk. Adding yogurt and cheese to her diet if she can tolerate it counts towards milk intake as well.

I was wondering why if she's on a low milk volume she's on hungry milk? Maybe it's too heavy and filling? Have you tried switching back?

I would avoid the follow up formulas, they are really geared towards an infant that is doing extremely well on solids as they do not contain everything baby needs in the right amounts if solids are hit and miss.
I would put her back to a standard formula

I don't know anything about formula, I BF until a couple of weeks ago but I have heard that it's ok to keep babies on the first formula and there's no need for follow on formulas etc.

No formula advice from me either, but I would suggest posting on the bottle feeding forum if you have more questions in that department.

Hi. My little fellow did a similar thing at around 6 and a half months. I changed nothing and it just sorted itself out over about 10 days - I'm still not sure what caused it. Also I used to BF and give a dream feed of hungry baby formula. When I stopped BF at 6 months I went to all regular formula and he took it fine.
I wouldn't bother with follow on formula- I think that's a bit of a marketing gimmic from formula companies.

I heard the follow on milks were a gimmic and there was no need for them really I was just wondering if that would be better then going back to the stage 1 milk. I have changed her routine a tad, we were giving her mile before her nap but now we put her down for her nap and give her her milk as a mid afternoon snack. She only took a few ounces but it was more then usual and she has had nearly 8 ounces of her night time feed
Thanks all!

Why is she still getting a night time feed at 7 months?! That could be the root of your daytime issues. I would start cutting back an ounce every couple of days and hopefully she will stop waking to eat in the next 2 weeks.

Just throwing an idea out there...do you think she is getting distracted when she should be feeding? I noticed around this age my DS will not have a full feed when there are distractions. I often have to BF him in his room straight after his nap to get him to have a good feed or he just bobs on and off...

Yeah, she always been a very nosey child and she wont eat when we are out and about as she would rather be smiling and giggling at every one who walks past. She has just discovered crawling and standing up so she has much better things to do then be strapped in a chair and fed. She is quiet happy sat on the floor with me eating snacks but doesnt seem to want to be in her high chair at the mo.
She still isnt taking much milk at all and seems to be sleeping more in the day then usual...does that seem common?

It seems to be GS behaviour.........Maybe she is having her 6 month one a little late? I think we had ours late
How long has it been going on for? I would also try feeding her in a dark quiet place and see if she takes more milk?

Alexandra did the same thing for 2 weeks... scared me to death - and was very annoying at times LOL! I agree with Sara, growth spurt or it could be teething too. That will always put them off of food regardless of pain meds at times!
