Today the long 1 st A time really backfired... He Only slept for 25 mins!!! He had spat up all over himself though when I went in... So maybe a bit of a reflux flare. Sigh! Any way, he's down for nap #2 now... After almost 2 hrs A time... Hope this one is a bit longer. So much to do!

Hope that PM nap goes better than the first! :) At 6 months there is a big GS which for us caused a reflux flare....something to watch up for :) x

Kara - Jude is 7.5 months. One amazing thing happened today.... he fell asleep in the car on the way home from my parents! He hasn't done that since 2 months old! We drove around until he woke up... of course 30 minutes in the dot! :) I will work on pushing out his first A time tomorrow. The weather is finally nice here so we can get outside!

Heather - how did the second nap go?

Terrible! Another 25min nap. 3rd nap of the day was 30 mins. Definitely in OT territory today. Tomorrow will be a busy day too so I'm worried we're going to get terribly overtired :( had a few early morning NW last night... Not sure if those were UT or OT wakings.

Any way, our EASY today wasn't EASY at all... Or easy for that matter :P hope tomorrow is better... I think I'll try a slightly shorter A time, 2hr45min or something along those lines... We'll see how he does.

We all have bad days, just as Sara said.

Just remember, when you have a less than EASY day... there is always tomorrow :)

Heather, you are getting a lot of advice already and I don't want to confuse you more, BUT...

When you started the thread LO didn't do long enough A time, do I remember that right?
How did you jump to a first A time of 3h?
My LO (same age like yours), gradually increased his A time throughout the last two months and his first A time is now 2.45-2.50. I know that all babies are different and we can't compare the two of them despite the fact they were practically born a day apart, but I am more worried it was a too big jump in his A time iykwim.

I'll post our EASY when the day is done, but a curiosity so far: unintentionally DS had 3 hrs A time this morning (DH got home, let me sleep in, and didn't listen when I said put him down after 2.5 hrs, lol. Or give him his reflux meds. Men! lol.), and then he slept 1hr 10mins! And went down happy and woke happy! Thats the longest A he's done, ever.
.

That's how it happened :)

We've been doing 2.5 hrs for the past few days, and have gotten two 1hr20 min naps. Not sure if that's OT or UT... He's not super hyper when he wakes now... Still only sleeps for 30 ish mins most naps though.

Any way, we are going away for a few days... We're sure to go way off track but hopefully not to badly!

I would try going back to gently pushing out those As from 2.5 hours. Enjoy those days off and just go with the flow :-*

Hey ladies! Just wanted to let you know we haven't disappeared! We've just hit a rough patch... DS hasn't been sleeping well, naps or night... and I'm on my own again. Sigh. So it's hard to 'tackle' anything when all I want to do is sleep myself... any way.

I'm going to record/track our EASY going by DS's cues for a few days and post that probably in a new thread. So keep an eye out for me :)

Still wanting to pul my hair out here so any help is much appreciated :P

Oh, Heather, I am sorry to hear things have not settles yet. You could be hitting one of those GS again... we had that a few days ago... finished with one then come the other.
I think it's a good idea to look at a new EASY as his age is different, and maybe the problems you had before have changed or have different reasons now.

It wouldn't surprise me if we have multiple things going on... Developmental leap... Growth spurts... And the past few nights his reflux has flared, badly. I have to admit he slept with me last night and did so much better.

The good news is he took one 'long' nap yesterday: 1 hr nap after 2 hrs 30min A time first thing in the AM. Any way... Not sure how today will go... Just had to nurse him to sleep, he couldn't settle and has been caughing/choking/wet burping all morning. I feel so bad for the little guy :(

No worries Heather, sometimes you just have to do whatever gets everyone some much needed sleep!  Sounds like teething if he can't settle and wants you more... and the reflux flares would go along with it too!
