MSPI safe finger foods/rice crackers?
« on: June 30, 2011, 15:27:19 pm »
Hi my LO is almost 8 months and I would like to try finger foods soon - I live in Canada and was just wondering if anyone knew of any foods that I could try?

I live next to the US border so I could cross over if I need too.  Thanks!

Are you avoiding soy lecithin too?  Or is your lo ok with it?  (I ask because soy lecithin generally has no soy protein present, so sometimes it's ok for MSPI los)

Pastas are generally safe (just cook them quite soft), cheerios were ok for Dylan (but I would check for soy just in case), pieces/fingers of fruit or steamed veggies, toast made with safe bread.  I baked my own bread and still make muffins, cookies, etc. for Dylan at home.  That way I can not only control the allergens but also the sugar content :)

I have never heard of lecithin!  This is all pretty new to me- I'm hoping she is not intolerant/allergic to other foods...but I guess I'll find out.  Interesting that both your LOs have multiple food allergies - when did you discover that and what were the symptoms at the time?
