Its great that you are following your baby's lead Annette! I can't make sense of mine - for both my kids I had to watch the clock quite a bit. I am either too dense to pick them up or they are so hard to read! :( I guess I can consider shorter A time if he is in distress esp since he has a cough now. Last night was good though, he slept right through from 7pm till 6.45am without coughing much. So I hope he is feeling better.

I have just put him down to nap after 3 hour 10 mins of A time though and he is still sleeping (its about 1 hour into his nap). So I am thinking he may has extended his A time once again?

It sounds like your LO sleeps better when he has better naps! That sounds excellent IMO! LOL. I think my DS sleeps an average of 2 hours in the day only. :( But I am thankful that his night sleep is usually ok. He wakes in the night sometimes but we do not go to him, he usually puts himself back to sleep. Does that count as NWs?

It is so soooo confusing I agree!

Yesterday was wonderful. After an entire night of STTN and waking at 645am, his EASY looked like this:

645am: wake
10am: nap 1 (2hrs! Hasn't been this long in a long time!)
12noon: wake
3.15pm: nap 2 (1 hr 15 mins - I woke him up!)
430pm: wake
7.15pm: bedtime (A time only 2 hr 45 mins?)

Problem is this, he did an EW at 5am and babbled till 7am! Sigh. I guess he was UT? What do you suggest I do?

Looks like possibly that last A to BT was a touch short and maybe that 1hr15min PM nap was restorative enough for him to last a bit longer.

What a wonderful day hun - good work!!! Looks like 3hrs15 is your perfect A time at the moment

Thanks! I hope it lasts tho altho he only took an hour nap at 9am today. I think he is OT at nap. So you think I shld aim for both his naps to be only 1.5hr? Or maybe one long and one short?

yay for the good nap!! personally i like to hold onto a 2hr nap for my LOs, i found it made the transition from 2 to 1 nap soooo much easier when they are already used to having a long one as i've known quite a few who havent been able to extend the one nap past 1.5hrs when on one nap.

did he go straight to sleep at 7.15pm??

So even when he takes his 2 hr nap in the morning it's ok? As long as he gets used to having one long nap a day in a sense? I am so happy he took a 1.5hr nap in the afternoon yesterday and STTN till 630am this morning! Hoping today will be a good day of sleep too!

Yup, I think if he starts to nap really long in the AM ie 2.5 hours then this may affect your PM nap and you will want to cap it at 2hours. But if you are getting 2 good naps, if one is closer to two hours and its not affecting nights or your other nap then enjoy the Y time :)
