Heaps of spitting, lots of crying.  Called doctor and told them we want to try prilosec which is Losec in NZ ( I'm Australian).  Picked it, will start tomorrow, also got some mylanta, doctor said to give 1ml.  So wierd that he is all of a sudden so much worse, then again this has been going on for 4 months.  I hope the prilosec helps him and we can move forward.  I think we will still go and see a GI specialist.  He had a 3 hour sleep today, out of shear exhaustion and I let him sleep.  The only way he will sleep is on the breast and then transfer to his tummy, I stay with him the whole time.  If he wakes, input him back on the breast, and sometimes pray they dont keep having let downs, too much milk and then he spits up when he wakes.  The little angel is asleep on my breast right now....at the beginning of this feed he was grimacing and on and off the breast, contorting his body, reflux I guess.  Do either of you have any other suggestions to help ease his pain? Thank uou
Blessings
Lena

Zs reflux flared up around 4 months too, with the added mobility and growth I think it can cause issues. I would give pamol if it is really bad, try to keep him upright for 20 mins after feeds. Feeding to sleep may actually be making him worse as the milk soothes, then comes up and hurts, it is a vicious cycle. That said it sometimes helps. Does your LO take a dummy, this would be a better alt to the breast, the sucking will keep the milk down, soothe and prevent overfeeding.

There are heaps of things you can try to make it easier on you and your LO.

For us a baby seat really helped for naps put into a dark room, white noise, dummy, lots of rocking, cuddles, sometimes fresh air helped for settling. SOme people use a sling.
Gripe water helped us get the wind up, gentle back massage while holding him upright against your chest, car drive...

It is all really hard, and your LO may respond to other things my one did. Have a look through all the suggestions and see what you think will help. If the losec helps it can take up to two weeks to show improvement. We saw improvement in about 1 week. :-*

ANd yes, arching off the breast is a classic reflux sign :(

Thanks Sara, Auggie hates the car btw, so that won't soothe him, he has a pacifier and used to love it, but won't take it now.
Thanks for the link and suggestions.
Blessings
