Rolling while swaddled
« on: July 07, 2011, 02:31:39 am »
Hi!
I am trying to start EASY with my 4 mo old, but he has always been swaddled and just in the last few days, as I've been trying to start all this, he has learned to roll onto his tummy while swaddled.  I'm imagining that means I can't swaddle him anymore?  Or what happens then? I have been unsuccessful trying to get him to sleep unswaddled.  It is throwing off everything.
Does anyone have any pointers or advice for me?

Mmmmmm. Rolling in the swaddle isn't particularly safe so IMO you should wean.

I kept DD one arm in her swaddle until she turned 9 months (just last week!), she could roll but she had the arm free and could in actual fact bust it easily if she really wanted to. It just helped her settle to sleep better.
