night screaming
« on: July 16, 2011, 17:17:28 pm »
I have heard so much positive feedback from BW and now have decided to ask for some help with my DS 20 mths. He has always been a bad sleeper, but from time to time he will sleep through the night for a week at at time. We have been moving and travelling alot the last 3 months, spending around 3 weeks at each place. He has had a tough time adjusting. I have also recently gone away for a week at a time for work, which has also unsettled his routine, but Daddy is always with him if I am not. DS has been having night screaming fits recently, waking at different times through the night, usually just once, but enough to have the whole house awake. He goes into some kind of trance and cannot be consoled. It takes me an hour, sometimes 2 and he needs to be near me, but sometimes once I get him past that state he will drop off by himself. Sometimes i am wondering if it is a condition and most of the time just an attention seeker. He is impossible to touch or even approach when he gets into these states. He sleeps with his older brother who has a very calming feeling over him. Please help. Thankyou.

(((HUGS)))  I am going to move you to the Toddler Sleep Boards, so you can get support.  Can you post your current routine for us?

Also, what sort of times does he have these screaming fits? Are they in the early sleep stages, or later into the night?
