warming breast milk - tricks?
« on: July 20, 2011, 17:27:51 pm »
I just bought some new bottles today and learned that it's not good to warm breast milk using boiling water. I have been doing this since Mia was born. Ooops! So I've read that you're supposed to put the bottle in warm water 1 min. per ounce while swishing the milk around. Does everyone actually do this or do you just place the bottle in the warm water and swish it at the end? Any special technique? What about frozen breast milk? How do you thaw it? I'd set it on the counter for several hours and then move it into the fridge when mostly thawed but this is apparently not good either!

I used to just take it out of the freezer and put it in luke ward tap water and the gently swish it around. Apparently you're not supposed to mix it up to much. Hth x
