Is the DF messing things up??
« on: July 25, 2011, 16:45:29 pm »
My 2 month old has done so well at night. The other night he went from his 6:45 feeding until 1:45. For the last two nights I gave him a dream feed at about 10;15-10:30 and he was awake after 4 hours. Could the DF be messing up his sleep cycle? I'm trying to get a bit more sleep but I'll stop the DF if it's affecting his sleeping. Thanks for your help!

Hi there, sorry for the delay in replying, didn't notice your post until now.
Some mums do find that the DF disturbs the sleep more than it helps.
When you do the DF what time does your LO wake up? 2.30am? Does that mean you're getting an extra hour sleep (for yourself) or does it not change anything for you?
xx

He usually gets up at about the same time if I do the DF or not so I think it just isnt for this little guy. I cant complain as he's doing very well at night so we'll stick without it unless major things change. I do think he senses that I am in the room and wakes earlier, I may test the waters and sleep in the guest room to see before I put him in the room with his big brother. Thanks for your response!

Just keep in mind that it can take a few days for the DF to 'kick in' but tbh, if he's doing well at night and it's not bothering you too much the NF, then i would just leave it.
Have you tried the guestroom yet?
xx
