Can some children have more teeth than usual?

Not that I'm aware of. Hmmm, will have to get my thinking cap on again!

Just spoke to DH on the phone and he is going to very carefully count tomorrow in case he got it wrong!

Have just seen the table of typical amounts of day and night time sleep and he is certainly not getting enough in 24 hours. Especially as he has always been high sleep needs. Dh suggested we try pain meds tomorrow and will do that to see what happens. In fact if we have a NW tonight will do it. Can't hurt!

Thanks for thinking of us Sian xxxxxxx

It is a puzzle & yes, definitely worth just double checking the teeth!

Have you noticed that he has gone through any developmental leaps recently such as increased vocabulary/ physical skills etc.....these can also cause sleep issues.

Yes his speech and general understanding seem to have come on in leaps and bounds lately. And he's asking lots of questions so it could be that. I never thought of that.

We did meds twice in the night when he stirred. Last one at 4am and he slept til 6.20am which is really good for him. His cheeks were red this morning too but i slowly and carefully counted his teeth and he definitely has 20!

We went to a party at a farm this morning so his nap wasn't until 1.10pm. Going to give him until 2.40 and bed 7.30.

Thank you xxxxxxxxxxx

Just realised he did an 11 hr night last night - the most he's had for a while!:) Wondering if he's in pain somewhere else then and the meds helped??? Bit of a worry xx

This sounds more than likely to be causing the issues, the good news is these are phases that LO's go through & it will pass! Glad he did a better night!

One partial NW where we did meds and wu at 6.20am - are these meds helping do u think? And why? :)

My stepson who DS adores arrives for the weekend tonight at about 6.30pm so will have real trouble getting him upstairs at 7.20ish. May do slightly longer nap and bed at 7.45pm. Just seem to be winging it these days with no real plan - thats toddlers I suppose!!

Hope all is well with you Sian xxxxx

It is interesting that they do seem to be making a difference, does he seem poorly in any other way (as we can discount teeth!).

The longer nap & later BT sounds like a good plan!

No he doesn't seem poorly but his behaviour has changed lately. Much more defiant and tantrummy and ignores me a lot. I suppose its 2 year old behaviour.

He was in bed and quiet at 7.30pm tonight. He had had a 2 hr nap so i was going to put him down later but DH took charge(which was nice) and thought he should be down earlier.Who knows????

?????????????????????????

Went down at 7.30pm , no NW and woke at.......7am!!!!?? Had to check the clock 4 times. Amazing : ) But WHY?
Only thing different yesterday was I gave him a 2 hour nap as i thought he would have a late bedtime but he ended up going at 7.30. DH is on duty til after lunch - should he still do nap at 12.30 as planned? And how long would you give him do you think?
Petrified of making a wrong decision and being up at 5.30 again tmrw. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
