She's sleeping thru for the most part, just not as long as I feel she needs. 11hrs15 last night, so not bad, I just think she needs 12+.  I'm going to nap her in the car today, then we are out of town Friday & Sat, so she'll likely have car naps then too.

I guess maybe she'd eventually start tacking on to her night sleep, but I've been too scared to do more than 1 or 2 no nap days in a row. I'm in denial really about the whole situation  :P   I keep promising I'm just not going to go thru the headache of offering a nap at home, but talked myself into it yesterday, cue full on 45 minute battle of the wills. I just need to stop and turn on the TV  :-\

yes we are the same. He slept in the car today but quite late. I know he is tired - he fell off a swing today and bust his lip :(

Aw, poor little guy!

DD is tired too... Just melting over everything, bags under her eyes.  She got a car nap today, but I am just HATING them.  I hate sitting in the car, driving, waiting for her to wake up. It's ridiculous.  I just don't know what else to do.

me neither - we got 1 NW but he settled easily. What scares me is come September I will not have help so just will not be able to drive about with 2 of them and then he will get so OT. Uggh

The only offer of hope I can give you having gone through the no-nap nightmare is that early BT's do seem to be the only thing that works with no nap (& I mean early like 6pm), which although is a struggle to get her down for this time (especially as I generally have to do BT's for both my LO's during the week as DH travels a lot with work) they are definitely starting to pay off. To start with she didn't tack on & nights were short but I have stuck to my guns & they are lengthening!

{{Hugs}} it's a toughie!!

what time does she wake in the morning? Do you usually do a 6pm bedtime?
Early bedtimes never usually work here but I may have no choice soon. x

ATM she is in bed by 6.15pm & seems to go to sleep pretty quickly......today she woke at around 7.30am but generally she's awake around 7am. We did go through a period of EW's, but I have stuck to the early BT's as much as possible & her nights have gradually got longer.....but it did take time!

I think we haven't done bt early enough on no-nap days, but her wake time has been shifting earlier and earlier, so it's hard to get her down as early as she probably needs.  I'm guessing she needs more like an 11 hour day, then a 12 hour or more...

We are traveling right now, and DD fell asleep at 9a.m. in the car.  :o   I was thinking maybe we'd get a 2 nap day. silly me....

Becky, we get NWs when DD is getting OT, Quick enough to settle, probably nightmares, but we've had a couple last week. Build up from the lack of day sleep, I guess.

I too think the key is the early bedtimes and for us we struggle to do early enough during the week so try and play catch up a bit at the weekend.

Sian I am impressed she's been sleeping so well :)

What time did he wake Becky?  could you get a nap in today on that basis?

It's such a hard transition Becky I feel for you!

Laura, as you know M's sleep has been up & done to say the least BUT the early BT's do seem to be paying off (for now!!)

he woke at 6.10am but he did go back when I told him the sunshine was not up and it was still night time. For now at least he is paying attention to the clock so he will stay in his room until 7am at least and i 'think' he is sleeping as he is pretty vocal when he is not. He went out with DH this am so he will get a nap on the way back and then I think a 7pm bedtime again probably. He will always nap in the car. He told me today he was tired at 8am and then when I said maybe he should have a rest he told me 'not in my bed mummy' Grrr - I could totally handle him giving up the nap just not the c*** that goes with it yk?
