7 mo nightweaning
« on: August 04, 2011, 21:30:35 pm »
My lo never took a Df but wud wake to feed around 10 and then sleep thru. I gave this as a bottle of 8oz. He drank all. At 6.5 mo i started slowly cutting this feed. He wud have it anytime btwn 8.30pm!! and 1am (average time 10.30pm). We are now down to 3oz. Should i keep reducing, or should i dilute it? Any advice? He usually wakes 2-3 times in the early evening, but normally sleeps well btwn 12am and 6am. Thanks! XX

It's up to you really, you can dilute it by adding less formula powder or just stop it. We rediced my DD's NF (no DF either) by reducing it gradually but then when we got to 3oz she didn't wake for it one night so we just offered water after that. She wasn't too impressed the first couple of nights but she got the message there was no more milk pretty quickly!

How is your EASY going? The fact he is waking so many times in the early evening is generally a sign thay they are OT going to bed. Maybe a bit of tweaking and dropping that feed now would help him settle better?

thanks. We are doing wu 6am, nap1 9am, nap2 btwn 1 and 2. His pm nap is v unsettld. He usually wakes several times. If i put him down before 1 he either refuses to sleep, or sleeps 15 min and wont go back! He is cutting a tooth at the mo, and just started pulling up, so easy is a bit off track atm. Thanx for ur help!

I was thinking the same thing, but the unsettled PM nap is likely to blame... sounds like he has a lot going on right now - poor wee man!
