We make porridge fingers - have you tried them?

3tbsp porridge oats + 3tbsp milk (you could try using her HA formula or maybe Oatly oat milk).  Mix the oats & milk in a small bowl & leave to rest for a while - oats will absorb the milk.  Then microwave on full power for 2 mins.  Comes out like flapjack (minus the gooey syrup) & we cut it into fingers & serve as finger food with fresh fruit.  DSs loves it & doesn't even mind if I make it with his formula.

Just thinking if you cook the milk the taste might not be so noticeable?  Or how about mixing fruit puree in with her cereal to mask the taste of the HAF?

So sorry you have lost soy again. It is difficult but you do get used to it. James used to be very limited in his diet as he reacted to lots of different foods. It is great now that we only have to avoid egg, dairy and nuts but thats only because we used to have to avoid so much more. James recently passed a peanut challenge which was great, not that it has opened up huge amounts of options but it is just one more food we have back.

For a long time James used to have baby rice mixed with neocate and apple and pear puree added. This was something James was still having when he was 2 years old.

Pancakes are a great idea for something different especially as you don't avoid egg or wheat which makes it much easier.

You could do egg with crumpet or bagel.

I am glad that your lo has started accepting the oat milk again on her cereal as that makes things a little easier for you.

Kelly x

James has atopic eczema, multiple food allergies, asthma and late talker

Well I was naughty and the tight side of me wanted to finish off all the soy stuff we have in the house before going back to soy free (just a tub of yoghurt and the last of the bread). Last night she was up for 4 hours with gas pains. i feel awful.

So here we are again, back to square one. Its all good though, we live and learn.

It sounds awful that she went through it but now at least you can be 110% sure of the soy and what it can do to her  :'( As you say, live and learn, at least now you can move on for the mo.
