I have actually found that meds generally do not work the last few nights before the tooth cuts... but have a bit of luck with night time orajel when resettling throughout the night...

Interesting kara! Maybe i can track some orajel down when we get back to the city. we're on an island ATM :) i hope the advil works tonight! I'm just done. That tooth better show itself soon! His gum was looking pretty stolen earlier...

sarah, if tonight isn't better i'll try alternating the meds. hate to Medicate him but we both need sleep! At least with DH home i can sleep a bit longer in the AM (until he has his morning poop, as DH refuses to change poopie diapers)...

and then we can get back into this routine business! And hopefully have some better naps!

Thanks ladies :)

We're one of the gulf islands ATM... the most we have here is a marina and post office :P

last night was a bit better... and our first nap today is just passing the 1he 30min mark! However, i nursed him to sleep as he was a,mess! Poor guy. Hoping the tooth cuts through soon! It looks, like its almost there :)

Crossing my fingers for another good nap this afternoon, sans APing :) that would be a routine i could get behind! No more 30 min maps!

We are in AP land right now... third tooth cut last night... and the 4th is on it's way.... ugh.

Kara - A has more teeth than Z now :P
Heather, it is hard medicating them, but if he is that miserable then he and you will be better off for it. The doses are safe, and it is only temporary :-*

Ok! Just checking in... still in teething hell.(can feel the teeth they are not through yet though!) but had a better night last night. we got a 6 hr stretch of sleep! Woo! Then he was up for an hour fussing :P and then up at 5am! Got him back to sleep for another 40mins or so.

Naps are still short, and I'm assuming we are still stuck in the UT/OT loop. his first A time today was barely 2hrs 30mins (going by cues) and that nap was only 30 mins. then he started looking tired less than 2hrs later but we were out and he,got REALLY over tired. Had to AP him to sleep... hoping for an OK nap so we dont have to do a ridiculously early BT.

sugh... hoping those teeth show themselves soon! And then we've got his 6mos shots thurs.. lol, things are never 'normal'!

Should keep trudging through or may e start pushing A times if we have decent night?

If you get a good night I would try to keep him up to 3 hours (or as long as you can) for that first A to get a good first nap. It is hard when they are teething and poorly :-*

Heather - how is your LO? Have his teeth made an appearance yet?
Did you ever try Advil and Tylenol (alternating them)? I haven't tried Advil but am thinking I should pick some up!

Thanks for asking Katie! We're still teething like crazy here! Poor guy... any way, no actual teeth yet but they are right under the gum and I think we'll see some honest-to-goodness teeth in the next few days.

I did try alternating the advil and tylonol, but honestly it didn't help much more than just the advil! I highly recommend going and getting some. I'm guessing Jude is teething soon? How are the naps coming for you guys?

Any way... hoping for a string of good nights after this tooth shows itself! Hopefully we'll get a bit of a break...

6 month shots are easy!  Don't worry about it at all!  It's only one needle and it doesn't burn like the 2 month and 4 month ones did ;)  Alexandra was totally fine :)

Heather - so sorry that you are up so much at night. Jude sleeps pretty good at night, 1 maybe 2 NW's. I can't imagine bad napping with bad nights.  You deserve a long weekend with lots of sleep!

Jude is teething here too. He has his two bottom and I think he is getting the top ones now. He has been waking at night just screaming! I am off to get Advil today. He is also on the verge of crawling. He scoots around on his belly and pushing up on all fours. Our napping hasn't gotten much better. I have sort of given up hope and just am accepting that I may just have a short napper! We usually do 3 naps between 30-50 minutes. Sometimes I get a longer nap but to be honest those are the days that he won't got down for a third nap and he then is way OT for BT. Urgh! Oh well. I am now just following his lead because he seems happy when he wakes.

You deserve a long weekend with lots of sleep!

Oh I wish! ::)

We did have a decent night last night, only up once, but then an EW at 5:30am... got him to go back to sleep till 6 but thats not that much of an improvement! lol. I'm pretty sure he slept better because of his shots... they always make him sleepy. He's had a few decent naps today but mostly AP'd because he's a bit touchy today!! Poor guy. He was so brave at the Dr's yesterday though! He didn't even cry when she did it, just a little whine and then "oh look my toy is still in my hand!" He did scream the entire drive home though... :(

I feel the same way... I'm on the verge of giving up too... but once we get a break from teething and a few good nights I'll give stretching to 3 hours (or more maybe by the time we get there, lol) A time a go. Otherwise I think I'll just let it go because he usually functions well and is a happy boy on three 30 min naps. Not ideal but there is only so much one can do!
