Ick I hate the term colic...it just means 'I have no idea why your baby is unsettled but probably some kind of sore tummy ::) '

Poor bubba...you are doing the right thing hun, when she is in discomfort you just have to hold her and give her tons of cuddles and help to sleep. It is so hard though so make sure you get some time to rest too.

mmm poos sound a little off.....maybe your LO has intolerance's too. Go armed with all your info to the Dr, I remember writing everything down and bringing my mum along as backup (not that I needed it in the end as my Dr was great, but you never know)

Let us know how you go xx

{{{hugs hun}}}

I hope you can get somewhere with your doctor.  My DD2 was VERY gassy and very unsettled sleeping and lots of green and muciousy nappies and I cut right back on the dairy I was eating and it made a big difference.  I didn't completely go dairy free but cutting back really helped as I ate a lot of dairy.   THen when we were weaning onto solids she had a lot of issues with dairy herself and i had to cut it out and now am in the process of putting it back in and its going much better.

Agree with Sara. Go armed with info and how long she's been crying for etc and hope it makes a difference xx

I agree with the ladies - there certanly could be some dairy intolerance here - both from the FF and your diet.

Let us know what the doctor says first though  :-* :-*

Hi, I just wanted to say that you need to trust your gut instincts. If you feel there is something wrong then IMHO you need to try everything you can to try and find out what could be wrong. If you are getting no joy from your GPs then def go private. Olly was also very hard to settle for naps and at BT and it turned out he had food allergies (not wanting to scare you hun! - just an example ;))

I agree with all PPs. It sounds very much like my DS2 who I thought was touchy and was exactly like that hard to settle and wakes up a few mins after he has and needs to start again. We started with gaviscon and it helped but not completely and eventually we tried 3 different meds (ranitidine, domperidone and omeprazole) before we saw improvement. If gaviscon cured all reflux why would the other meds ever get prescribed? The Uk guidelines are that a paed prescribes anything more so if gaviscon doesn't work you definitely need a referral to the pead. I also had to visit the GP 5 times before this happened. I also though reading your OP that your Ds had the same issue not picked up with that history.

You could also consider going to your local A and E to see a pead Dr (seems drastic but if it is the only way you get to see one) or my local NHS hospital had a drop in session 4 days a week for this sort of thing so it may be worth looking into.

We all think something is up and it is quite possibly something fully treatable so I wouldn't settle for leaving her in pain.

I agree do whatever you can to get her some sleep for now. The car seat can squash the stomach if they end up in a slumped position and aggrevate reflux so that may be why she doesn't like it. B also hated it before his reflux was controlled.

How did the appt go?
