Really good night last night Dec slept till just after 7am, which is just perfect for him if he's not going to nap in the day.

Yesterday I engineered a nap for him by going out in the car and he had 40-45 mins. Plus he has no runny nose today. So I think the nap plus the fact that he's better has got us over the OT hump we were in. he's a LOT less grouchy today!

If he can sleep till 7 or beyond consistently then the nap will be gone for good.

Well, he was still tired this morning, fell asleep in the car at 11.30. Have just let him have 20-25mins and he's woke up fine.

So he still does need something, but it's so hard to get him to have a little sleep, unless we're driving. Grrrrrr, hopefully he'll get used to it soon.

Glad you had a good night, Consummy.

Barbara, i agree, easier said then done.  :-[

Madi had a decent night last night. Asleep by 8pm, woke briefly at 6:15am then again at 6:40am.  I would love if she would just sleep longer so we can try more no nap days. YKWIM?  I know she needs 6hrs of A time before bed(with a decent night) and a 6hr A before nap. that means our days are flipping 14hours long. She was always a 13hour day girl.

I think I asked before ladies but not sure what your responses were. If you let them nap 30-45mins, is bt the same?

If she can cope( play it by ear watching her cues) I would say keep BT the same and with a bit of luck she will add those lost minutes into her mornings. Fingers crossed!

thanks.

she passed out at 12:30pm on the sofa.
I am thinking of enforcing quiet time, like Becky did, in her room, but how do you convince them to stay there?

I would do same bt for 45mins Sabs. I do find k is less grumpy if i wake him when in transition to next sleep cycle than in the middle of 1 like after an hr. K fell asleep in the car at 10.30 so slept until 12 then asleep by 8pm. I felt bad as after i told him to stop yelling he was whispering mama stay.

Am I crazy or what?  Finally got DS down to nap at 2 and he slept 2.5h, so I thought we couldn't put him down early but he was a mess.  Why are they a mess when they had a long nap late???  He was yawning at 5:30.  He woke up at 6:50, so it's very long day.  I just didn't want bt refusal.  But his behaviour was horrid at bt, refusing everything.  He woke up at 4:30, we put him down at 9, that sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

Last sat, same wu, tried to put him to nap at the daycare nap time, in bed for 45 mins mucking around' a totally waste of time and effort and he promptly fell asleep when we got into the car!  Why o why??  Shouldn't there be a better way???

I want to change bt to 7:30, since his wu is now 6:50.  Does it sound right to you?

7:30pm sounds good.

I don't know if I did the right thing by giving her a 1.5hour nap b/c at bt(8pm) she did not seem tired at all. I hope we don't too much of an early waking.
Lets, say she falls asleep at 12:30pm the earliest, would a one hour be enough to hold her until her 8pm bt?
Hubby kept saying I shouldn't of giving her that long of a nap.  ::) It was kind of difficult to wake her up earlier as I had to settle DD2.  ::)

what do you make of this ladies. She had an earlier nap yesterday from 12:39-2pm and was asleep by 8pm. woke up this morning at 6:50am.
She is playing tricks on me. What does she want a longer nap with a longer A to bed or the shorter nap!!!  ::)

It's a good news and a great night Sabs! 8) Even though quite confusing...
I'm starting to think that capping naps too much does not really help the night. I also found that having a long A before bt is important for avoiding EW (although this is not always true for DS, it depends how tired he is). It's possible that she needed to catch up a little for sleeping well at night.

oh boy ladies, it looks like she is not going to nap. We cuddled for a good 30mins and nothing. She kept asking me if it was time to wake up her sister. She is now having a snack on the sofa. Just give me 30mins child so we can do an 8pm bt.

Well, Sabs.  She slept well last night, so she isn't tired enough to do nap at that time.  Try no nap and 7:30 bt?

We tried so hard to put DS down at 7:30.  He was fighting so hard!!  Only managed to get him asleep at 8:15!   Sigh...  We started bt routine before 6:45!  I guess changing bt from 9 to 7:30 is a bit drastic, eh?  But DH and I both agree that he's tired.  He had under 9 h last night and with a NW!!  My cough woke him up :(  when will this end???

It will end. I think it will take him some time to get used to an earlier bt. Have you tried moving it one hour before his usual bt?

I was thinking of keeping 12hour day, so 7pm bt. How does that sound? I never know what to do, push her more or do a 12hour day.
