Lily,I Aldo think it doesn't sound like nap dropping. If. Remember correctly at this age dd went through something similar. And we ended up with a routine like wu 7-7:30, nap 12:30-2:20 and bt was around 8-8:30. They go through phases of resisting but do come around back to napping!

Sabs we seem to be following your pattern. After that horrendous 13 hr day she did surprisingly well with a 12.5 hr night. But today she had a 45 min nap and fell asleep by 8 pm. Wonder how long the night will be.

I agree as the PP said. I think it is a developmental milestone and many have gone through this.

Shresmummy, This pattern is horrible, isn't it?  she is looking really tired. I am typing here beside hoping she will nap. Don't even know how long I should let her nap. Something tells me if she falls asleep now, to let her sleep until 2pm. That would give us an 1hr and 20min nap. God this transition is difficult. I thought it would be a breeze for her as the 2-1 was very easy.  I find 13hour days always worked best for her.

I am totally confused ladies.  DH told me that DS did have a NW at 3!  Sometimes when he had a NW, he would wake late and he slept through piles driving and the light on the alarm!  He woke at 8, HAPPY, just chatty without crying at all.  So I thought he slept well.  He had his usual 1h30 nap at daycare and by 8 he was yawning, even though we planned to put him down for 8:30!  I just don't get it.  He seems tired but couldn't fall asleep.  It's like I constantly miss his window and he ends up taking ages to fall asleep.  Or can this be another leap???

i think a leap.  IT has to be?

I let Madi sleep from 12:40-2pm. She was easier to wu this time. Sigh. Aiming for an 8pm bt.  God, I hope I made the right decision by letting her sleep an extra 20mins. I hope I should't of stuck with the one hour nap today.

For the better mood, it's totally worth it, Sabs.

If this is another leap, then he's been having a leap every 4-6 weeks!!

How's it going, Sabs? has she gone down OK? It's such a gamble, isn't it?

I think I've got things OK here. luckily Dec has always been OK at coping with being tired. If he sleeps beyond 7 then I know we're OK, if it's 6-6.30 then I need to engineer a nap into our day usually by driving- we've generally got somewhere to go so that's fine.

Proud mummy ths morning. He's just realised he can get out of bed by himself, came trotting in at 5am-eeeeek! But I sent him back to bed, he cried a little at first but was fine and slept till just before 7!!!!!!!!!!

K took an hr to nap today so only got 45min in before i woke him at 2. Was all set for a 7.30bt but dh popped out with him for a few mins which ended up 30 and then said he was hungry and dh made pasta. By the time he bud it was 8pm bt but he is being particularly difficult as is taking off his clothes and nappy! 8.15 and counting... If he wakes the baby i Will be really annoyed.

Consmummy, Madi discovered getting out of her bed one month ago. She was so happy she could do it but now when she wakes early or has a nw, she just gets out of her bed and comes to my room.  :-[

Koe, it has to be a leap! I keep thinking that b/c around the 3 year mark they are going through so many developmental changes. don't forget that independence stage.

I keep telling Madi, one day mommy is going to be dragging you butt out of bed.  :-X

K, oh boy. Good luck.

I put Madi down at 8pm and she went pretty smoothly. Fingers crossed for an 11hr night.

Sabs, hope the night goes ok for you. After that 45 min nap yesterday she did a 10h15 min night. Today  she napped a bit early and I'm going to let her sleep 1h10. I need 15 min of kid free time today. Hope it doesn't bite me in the behind at bt!

My dd is so funny, she can get out of bed by herself too, but she always keeps a huge Teddy at the end of the bed so she can't fall. Even if I forget she keeps it there and doesn't get out! Strange girl!

Hi girls,
F resulted having a throath infection and he's under antibiotics. 10 days of antibiotics! Poor little! Anyway, he seems to be better now, yesterday the fever was eventually gone and tonight he STTN, for the first night this week. He went to bef yesterday at 9 and he's still sleeping (through the sunshine of the gro clock) at 8.20! He's catching up all the bad nights I guess.
And I'm back home, so I feel more relaxed too.
Barbara

Oh dear Barbara!  I hope F gets well soon.  DS always sleeps loads when he's ill which is a great thing.  Hopefully when he gets better, the whole sleep thing will settle a bit.

Sabs, u know what?  I think you are probably right.  DSs GSs are always early and much longer than average!!  That one day without nap worked so beautifully but I dnot think he can manage another one just yet.

Koe, I think it just takes time for their little bodies to get used to no nap.

Barbara, sending get well vibes your way.

Shresmummy, I too would let her sleep a little more. Tell me about the kid free thing. Sigh

IT is 7:20am and Madison is still sleeping. I just don't get it. Maybe she is catching up? I can't figure this girl out. I know with a 1hr and 20min nap she needs 6hrs of A time.

Oh gosh, it did come and bite me in the behind! She took aaaages to fall asleep. I hope we don't have an ew! I am going to aim for no nap day tomorrow. She was so difficult to wake up even at 1h10 mins! Se pushed me away and slept for another 15 even though ds was pulling at her.I don't get it!

Barbara hope he gets well soon!

7:20 sleep in! I long for that day!

just checking in ladies - we are still here but for now seem to be trucking along. Quiet time has been AMAZING for us - so glad we started it. He probably naps 3 out of 7 days but it is enough and I get a break too :) I really thought we were stuck with car trips.
